SHB Earns Marketing/PR Awards

Southern Heritage Bank and Micah A. Walker, MBA, Assistant Vice President – Marketing & Public Relations, were recognized by the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) for outstanding work in the field of Public Relations during the 2021 Annual Conference held in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Members from the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA), the Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL), and the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM) received 90 awards for their work in the categories of Long Term Programs, Short Term Programs, and Tactical Materials.

Entries were judged on their individual merit by PR practitioners from outside the area of competition.  Award-winning entries are recognized with Awards of Merit, Awards of Excellence, and the top tier – Lantern Award. A Best of Tier award winner is selected from the highest scored Lantern winners in each tier, with the Best of Show award selected from the three Best of Tier honorees. 

Southern Heritage Bank was honored with two Lantern Awards, one Award of Excellence and one Award of Merit for work done in 2020. Two campaigns were honored – Buy. Build. Refinance. mortgage lending campaign and the Add A Little Lagniappe checking account campaign. A project to increase website traffic for the bank was also honored.

Southern Heritage Bank is a community bank based in Central Louisiana, serving the citizens of LaSalle, Catahoula, Rapides and Grant parishes.  Our origins are in the forests and delta lands of Central Louisiana where our officers, employees and board members are a part of the communities. 

Founded in 1972, SPRF is the umbrella organization for the Public Relations Council of Alabama, Public Relations Association of Mississippi, the Public Relations Association of Louisiana and Emerald Coast Public Relations Organization.
