Job Title: Branch Manager/Loan Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt/Non-Exempt

Summary

Manages branch of a financial institution by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors, also examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for lines of credit, commercial loans, real estate loans, consumer credit loans, or credit card accounts.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Branch Manager
Supervise the day-to-day operational functions of the branch including vault, drawer and ATM balancing; overseeing teller and customer service duties; and assisting with customer transactions. • Approve customer and bank transactions within authority limits. • Be knowledgeable about all deposit, business, and consumer loan products. • Ensure that all security procedures are strictly followed, branch is operationally sound, and satisfactory audits are achieved. • Supervise, coach, and develop staff regarding service expectations, policies, procedures, products, systems and banking transactions. • Facilitate regular employee meetings to discuss goals, disseminate company information, discuss operational issues, etc. Prepare teller and CSR disciplinary notices as needed. • Maintain staff schedules to provide adequate coverage at all times. •  Develop and grow business and consumer relationships. • Maintain good public relations with customers and the community. • Greeting customers, directing them to the appropriate area of the branch and ensuring customer needs are met. • Managing difficult situations with customers and providing them with a resolution, information, or additional options. Ensure that quick and proper response to all reasonable customer requests. • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained. • Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the workflow. • Comply with all department and company policies, procedures and regulations. • Be well organized and pay close attention to details.• Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

Loan Officer
Reviews, processes, closes, and administers loan proposals. * Interviews with applicants and requests for specified information for loan applications.  Develop new business (loan and depository) by marketing to new prospects. *Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation. *Corresponds with or interviews applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information. *Approves loan within specified limits or refers loan to loan committee for approval. *Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy. *Monitors’ performance of loan portfolio. *Analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 3 -10 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
